The Religion in Switzerland portal was created at the instigation of the Commission on the Church and Tourism of the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches (SEK) and the Commission on Tourism, Leisure and Pastoral Care for Pilgrims of the Swiss Bishops’ Conference (SBK). Both commissions have been involved in pastoral care for tourists for years.
